Although Minolta went out of business in 2006,
there still is a great demand for the Minolta 35mm camera. The cameras are
known for their durability, terrific flashes and versatile lenses. Even though
digital cameras are most widely used today, many people like working with film
cameras because they allow photographers more control over the final image, as
opposed to using a digital camera, where technology does the work. If you love
taking pictures, you should try out a Minolta 35mm camera--traditional or
digital models.
The company is also known for mainstreaming
the use of Single Reflexive Lens (SLR) cameras. Today, in 2010, most people use
digital cameras. Before the company disbanded, it did create the Minolta 35mm
Digital Camera, known as the DiMAGE. SLR digital cameras are needed if you are
photographing live action shots, because with cheaper digital cameras, users
experience "lag time" between the time they press the button and the
time the photo is taken, which can result in the camera being shaken or the
subject moving into a different, less preferred and often blurry position.
For many, using a Minolta 35mm camera provides
self-confidence, knowing that they retain control over the camera and the
corresponding photo.

Digital Camera Zoom Lenses

There are two types of zooms used with digital
cameras: optical and digital.
Optical Zoom
Using an optical zoom maintains picture
quality.
Zoom Ranges and 35mm Equivalents
Optical zoom lenses usually have a
specification called "equivalent in 35mm." This tells you the zoom
range of the digital camera compared to a 35mm film camera. Typical 35mm
equivalent zoom ranges you will see listed are 35mm-70mm or 35mm-105mm.
28mm.....wide angle
35mm......slight wide angle
50mm.....normal perspective

People are very familiar with the focal lengths
of the 35mm camera. Digital camera manufacturers often use these terms to
describe the focal length capabilities of each model in order for the public to
understand the specs and features of the camera. Manufacturers express the focal length as 35mm camera lens in
order for the public to comprehend faster so that it will be easier for them to
compare the digital lenses that are available for their gadgets.
When buying a digital camera with 35mm cameralens, make sure that it is equivalent to the 35mm which is compatible to
specific focal length. A lot of DSLRs or digital single lens reflex
camera has effective focal lengths. The focal length is the effective range
equivalent of the camera. When discussing whether the DSLR lens on
cameras is effective or not, check the full frame sensor. Take note that if it
states a 250 mm lens and not a 35mm camera lens, the RLM yields a 400mm
effective focal length.
70mm.....slight telephoto
105mm.....moderate telephoto
135mm.....strong telephoto
200mm+.....extreme telephoto So, a 35mm-105mm
equivalent zoom lens changes from a slight wide angle to a moderate telephoto.
A 28mm-200mm equivalent lens changes from a wide angle to an extreme telephoto.
A 35mm-105mm equivalent zoom is adequate for
most users. Optical Zoom as 2x, 3x, 5x...
A 28mm-105mm would be approximately a 4x zoom,
and a 35mm-350mm would be a 10x zoom.
Digital Zoom
A digital zoom does not change, magnification.
